Common questions
Can you notarize a Last Will and Testament?+
Wills usually require witnesses rather than (or in addition to) a notary, depending on your state. We can notarize the self-proving affidavit attached to the will.
Do you provide witnesses?+
We can often arrange one or two impartial witnesses for an additional fee. Let us know in advance so we can coordinate.
Can the signer be in a hospital, hospice, or memory care?+
Yes. Bedside signings are a regular part of our practice. We're patient, calm, and respectful with clients in sensitive settings.
What if the signer can't physically sign?+
Many states allow signature-by-mark or signature-by-proxy with strict procedures. We'll walk through the requirements before the appointment.
How do you confirm the signer is acting freely?+
Before notarizing, we verbally confirm the signer understands the document and is acting without coercion. If we have any concern, we'll decline the signing.
